Been exploring loads of early quasi-fourth world, ethnomusicologist, earthier forms of musique-concreté, and The Loa of Music (1983) is such a standout record. Musci's reverence towards the traditional music of Loas is evident with his very real field recordings, gentle arrangements and subtle additions. Musci adds just enough to give it a bit of his style and musicality, while still feeling very authentic. Lost Tribe Sound
A split from modular synth wizard Nils Quak and free-form psych duo Flamingo Creatures splits the difference between cosmic and organic. Bandcamp New & Notable Sep 10, 2020
Cacophonous mash of noise, electronic sounds and vocals powered by energetic walls of drums. Listen loud, jump often. Bandcamp New & Notable Jan 28, 2014
Amazing from start to finish. Sort of like encountering Harry Smith's Anthology of American Folk Music for the first time, it's like stepping off a spiral staircase into the deep end of a whole 'nother universe of mysteries. "Triptik 2", the closer, is one of the most jaw-droppingly strange/hypnotic collisions of jazz, electronica, psychedelia and WTF I've ever heard - and yet it somehow works. Bought both volumes just on the strength of the first one & hoping there are many more to be issued. rocketmorton
